How to get your brand mentioned in ChatGPT: what we did for a Swiss scarf brand
October 28, 2026 · Clever Bean
More buyers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Mode what to buy and where. If your brand is not in those answers, you are invisible to them. This is what we did for one client, with dates, so you can judge whether it works.
The starting point
beyondSilk is a Swiss brand of silk scarves. In August 2026, when we started, the brand appeared in one AI answer out of 80 we tested, and that one pointed to a dead link. The website had a contact form and no checkout, 66 sessions in 30 days, and no social accounts.
What we actually did
There is no trick that puts a brand into ChatGPT. AI engines pull from what they can read and verify, so the work is making the brand readable, buyable and corroborated.
Made the site answer buyer questions. Pages were rebuilt around the questions people actually type, like Swiss gifts and silk scarves, in plain language with facts an engine can quote: materials, origin, prices, shipping.
Made it buyable. Checkout went live on September 14, 2026. An AI engine recommending a store where you cannot order is recommending a dead end, and the engines appear to know it.
Built corroboration. Social accounts, product listings and reviews give an engine independent places to confirm the brand exists and sells what it says.
Measured it monthly. We run the same test every time: 80 answer cells across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and other engines, same queries, dated.
What happened, with dates
August 2026, start
1 mention in 80 cells, on a dead link.
September 17
first online sale. The buyer found the brand through ChatGPT.
October 7
23 of 80 cells name the brand. For "Swiss silk scarf" queries, 13 of 15.
October 22
ChatGPT names beyondSilk first for "Where can I buy a Swiss silk scarf?" in three runs out of three that day.
The honest part: gift queries were still at 0 of 40 on October 7. AI visibility arrives query by query, not all at once, and we publish the losses with the wins.
Can you do this yourself?
Partly. The principles are public: answer real buyer questions in plain text, make ordering work, get mentioned in places engines read, and test with the same queries monthly. What takes time is doing it every week while running your actual business.
Find out where you stand
We run a free online visibility check: we test where your business shows up on Google and in AI answers, and send you what we found the same day, with the fixes we would start with.
